The historic castle Garath in Dusseldorf was first documented in the late 13th century. Despite its millennial history, the building complex of the palace complex in its present form was created only in the years 1912-1913. After being handed over to the current owner in 1992, the castle was extensively and lavishly restored over a period of two years in close consultation with the monument protection agency. The buildings have a total area of approx. 2,860 m², which is divided into approx. 1,620 m² of highly representative offices, conference rooms and banqueting hall space, as well as further approx. 1,240 m² of additional use and traffic areas. The associated park was created in the 18th century to plans by Nicolas de Pigage and planted with rare tree species.
