Caverswall Castle, a rare example of a privately owned English, Grade I listed, moated castle has entered an unfortunate new chapter in its history as it is now being sold by Jackson-Stops on behalf of Receivers.

Originally dating back to the 13th century, the castle was rebuilt in the 17th century to become a more practical mansion (although still castellated and within the walls and moat of the original property).

In more recent times the property was purchased by a successful property entrepreneur for a reported £1.8m.
