In the southern part of the territory of the municipality of San Cipriano Picentino, in the hamlet of Campigliano, on the border with the city of Salerno, on a plot of about 15,000 square meters, located on the highest part of Montevetrano at an altitude of about 280 meters asl (surrounded by olive groves), the building called “Castelvetrano” (40 ° 40'25.46 “N -14 ° 51'38.59” E) is located. The complex has a trapezoidal plan and a surface of about 700 square meters, has a medieval structure (of Roman origins) and consists of boundary walls that enclose what remains of the internal divisions together with the ancient circular sighting tower.
