In rolling beautiful Västergötland right on the shores of Lake Vänern, just where the plain goes into the woods, lies the peaceful Börstorp castle. The property is in a parcel and comprises about 120 ha and about 14 ha of water. In the western part of the property the lands extend into Lake Vänern and to the east into the country. Here you will find everything from fertile farmland and well-managed forest with good hunting to varied and successful activities. It also has its own water with a marina and fishing. The surroundings are unbelievably beautiful with rich nature, oak and deciduous forests and open cultivated landscape. In the midst of this idyll, the well-preserved Börstorp Castle rises as a pompous cultural carrier from the Middle Ages with an exciting history.

The property is known since the 14th century, then under the name Bergestorp, but has probably been inhabited since long before. The castle was erected by Conrad von Falkenberg and his wife Catharina Bonde and was completed in 1646. The stone in the castle comes from Kinnekulle. The castle lord Carl Leuhusen and Wilhelmina von Knorring built in the 1850s on the castle in the neo-Gothic style according to architect Hjalmar Wijnblad's drawings. During this time, the beautiful barn buildings in natural stone, the old dairy and the impressive stone bridge with three arches were also erected, today Sweden's oldest of its kind. The county avenue was also planted during this time.

Today, the farm is run under its own management with agriculture as well as hotel and event operations, here also Europe's first climate-certified beef production is run under the well-known brand Börstorp castle. The castle is partly used today as a private residence but is also borrowed for conferences and major festivities. In late summer, opera evenings and in the autumn large hunting dinners and smaller concerts are organized. The castle today has 10 years of hunting rights on a total of about 810 ha. Börstorp's castle is located two hours from Gothenburg, three hours from Stockholm and fifteen minutes north of Mariestad.

All in all, Börstorp Castle, with its exceptionally beautiful nature, consistently good condition in everything from buildings to woods and all its wide possibilities is a property you absolutely love from the first moment.
